Mission
The administration, teachers, staff and community partners of 291 believe that, with hard work, HAWK children are destined for success. We recognize our accountability to guide our students and are steadfast in our collaboration to achieve the primary goal of graduating competent learners who are well-rounded with expert command of real-world, academic and social-emotional skills; who are successful students in high school and college; and who blossom into kind-hearted, productive citizens of the world.

Challenge
IS 291 HAWKS are hard-working, steadfast scholars immersed in a college-bound culture that prepares well-rounded learners for the rigors of high school and equips them with real-world, college and career skills.
Support
IS 291 HAWKS are taught healthy social interactions and emotional well-being. They are held accountable for the social-emotional choices they make on/offline and are taught the importance of being kind to themselves and others.
Accelerate
IS 291 HAWKS are held to high standards. The Honors program gives well-qualified students the opportunity to take four Regents exams in grade eight. This reward ensures they are able to take advantage of more rigorous coursework in high school.
